Russia Ukraine War: Russia has done the biggest deadly attack on Ukraine so far. The death toll rose to 30 after Russia fired missiles at an apartment in the south-eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro. The National Emergency Service of Ukraine said that rescuers are trying to rescue survivors from the wreckage of the apartment.
According to the news, the employees of the National Emergency Service kept doing rescue work in this multi-storey residential building day and night. According to officials, about 1,700 people lived in this building before the Russian attack, but now there is no one here. According to The Associated Press-Frontline War Crimes Watch Project, this is the biggest attack in terms of death toll since the September 30 attack in Zaporizhia, Ukraine.
Russia denies targeting civilians
Russia has also launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv and the northeastern city of Kharkiv on the same day. The attack has destroyed much of Ukraine’s electricity and infrastructure. Russia has acknowledged Sunday’s missile attacks on Ukraine, but has not mentioned the attack on the apartment in the city of Dnipro. In fact, Russia has repeatedly denied targeting civilians in the war.
Fired 33 cruise missiles on Dnipro
According to the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, General Valery Zalujny, Russia fired 33 cruise missiles at Dnipro on Saturday, of which we shot down 21. At the same time, according to the Ukrainian Air Force command, the missile that hit the apartment building was a KH-22 launched from the Kursk region of Russia. The Air Force also admitted that they do not have a capable system to stop Russia’s cruise missile attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that as of Sunday afternoon, at least 73 people had been injured and 39 had been rescued. The city government in Dnipro said 43 people were reported missing.
